The VOICE of CHRISTIAN LIBERTY broadcasts for JULY 14-17th ![]() Premiering this week on AM 1160, 7:00 PM, July 1st THE VOICE OF CHRISTIAN LIBERTY THE PEOPLE WHO INSPIRE US Mrs. Florie Lindstrom-Morrison, Honoring a Pioneer, a “Sweet-Smelling” Woman of God ![]() We take for granted that a family with means might decide to send their child to a private school, maybe even a boarding school. We take for granted that a parent with certain values might decide to choose a parochial school, instead of their local public school. And we take for granted that someone might choose to buy a home in a particular school district because a public or private school, that they want their child to attend, was in that area. Home schooling. It's something we now take for granted. But did you know it once was brave and bold to believe in the right of a parent to decide what was the best choice for their child's education, and then to make the choice to teach their child at home, to home school? Reverend Paul Lindstrom and his wife, Florie, were pioneers in fighting for and establishing the right to home school as a choice for parents. According to the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) they noted this about Pastor Paul Lindstrom, “Home schoolers throughout America owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to this passionate man of God who faced impossible odds beginning in 1969. He knew that parents had the constitutional right to direct and control the education of their children and would not accept 'no' from the states and school districts that prohibited home schooling. He faithfully worked as an ally with Home School Legal Defense Association, fighting for the rights of home schoolers.” A gentle but strong woman, Florie stood with her husband, "Pastor Paul" as he was affectionately called, when he founded the homeschooling program CLASS, and the day school academy, Christian Liberty Academy, The Church of Christian Liberty, and also a publishing division, Christian Liberty Press. And she was there when he took up international causes for the the worldwide church of Christ, including helping the persecuted church. Pastor Paul Lindstrom died in 2002, and Florie later married Roger Morrison, a member of The Church of Christian Liberty. After being married almost ten years, Roger, too, went to be with the Lord. Florie Lindstrom-Morrison is a sweet-smelling woman, literally, and more importantly, spiritually. Throughout Scripture a sweet savor can be found to refer to a sacrifice that pleases the Lord. In Ephesians 5:2 it states, we are to “walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.” That is Florie Lindstrom-Morrison, a sweet-smelling woman who walks in love. Blessed with a wonderful family, but widowed twice, Florie has continued on despite her losses, experiencing joy in serving others for the cause of Christ. At the time of this writing it was made known Florie Lindstrom-Morrison suffered a heart attack. Her son Calvin Lindstrom, the pastor of The Church of Christian Liberty, stated she was hospitalized but is home now recovering. Please keep in your prayers this inspirational woman, a beloved and faithful servant of the Lord ![]() Inspiring You to Live the Life God has Called You to Live - Audrey Marie Hessler Inspirational .
